    Exhibit: Delicious Ambiguity

These paintings and collages respond to the human condition of isolation. The act of service in caregiving my husband through his cancer journey for the past seven years has changed and impacted my life as well as my art practice. Most of the artworks on exhibition are a response to being confined to home and finding a way to turn this reclusiveness into something positive.

Making art has helped me navigate the delicious ambiguity of the past seven years, be present every day, and make peace with an uncertain future. These images, inspired by personal memories, experiences and events, evoke the passage of time and represent the transformations that our lives take over the years.

Gilda's Club is a community organization for people with cancer, their friends and families. It’s named in honor of the original SNL cast member Gilda Radner, who died of ovarian cancer in 1989. The support from Gilda’s Club, (along with a few other organizations, notably Open Arms of MN, Rebuilding Together, and JFCS) has been invaluable to us.

Gilda’s Club Twin Cities is at 10560 Wayzata Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55305. The Clubhouse is open to the public from Monday to Thursday.

My artworks will be displayed until April 30.

Five of my Pandemic Portraits are on view in this group exhibit January until April, 2025.

During Covid I made portraits of neighbors in front of their homes as a way for us all to feel less isolated. The pink house is my home — the calendar in the background illustrates the confusion of days during Covid. The other four paintings are neighbors’ homes along with the inhabitants including pets.
