Hassan Nor’s first art gallery exhibit, curated and organized by Pamela Gaard, in June, 2016 — a one night event with art, poetry, a book reading, and Somali food catered by the artist’s daughter, Farhiyo.

Interpretation from Somali to English that evening was by author, Ahmed Ismail Yusuf.

Pamela Gaard advocated for and facilitated meetings for Hassan Nor with galleries interested in his work from 2015 to 2019. This involved working with interpreters to create biographical material for exhibitions, photographing his work and submitting it to gallerists for review and publication.
This exhibit at Minneapolis Institute of Arts in Minneapolis is the first museum showing of his art.
