This weaving, created by women in Somalia, is made of sticks and textiles; handwoven, without a loom. It is used as a covering for the aqal Soomaali (Somali nomadic hut) -- brought from Sanaag, Somalia, and erected for the Independence Day festival on Lake Street in Minneapolis.
